What happened to test folder instspc.dir ?

Hi,

please ignore - worked out that the directory is created by the test
procedure.

just wondering, what happened to the test folder instspc.dir?

I've still got a copy from version 1.15, so I suffer no loss.

If you have a document which refers to its removal, or a git commit
message , I would appreciate it.
